The “Norway-Japan Marine seminar 2012”

Strengthening the marine research cooperation

The one-day marine seminar at Miraikan gathered 230 participants, including 36 speakers from Japan and Norway. Throughout the day, the parallel sessions were addressing key areas for sustainable utilization of marine resources. Presentations and discussions emphasized the leading role of Japan and Norway as marine nations. There is great potential for cooperation in many areas, ranging from development of technology for efficient fisheries and aquaculture, fisheries management and co-existence with marine energy production as well as seafood safety and quality throughout the value chain.
